Gokada is a technology startup founded in 2017 in Lagos, Nigeria. Initially launched as a motorcycle taxi service (“bike-hailing”), the company pivoted to logistics, parcel delivery, food delivery, and other services after okadas were banned in Lagos in 2020.
Today, through its “Super App,” Gokada offers several on-demand services: instant parcel delivery, food delivery, e-commerce, and—where permitted—motorcycle taxi ride-hailing.
Gokada presents itself as a “one-stop shop” for mobility and logistics needs in Lagos (and potentially in other states such as Oyo or Ogun).
Despite its success, the company has recently experienced financial difficulties: in 2024, Gokada filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which allows it to restructure its debts without immediately liquidating its assets.
